French country homes in the San Antonio area are not as prevalent as some other designs.  From the outside these homes usually have an old world looking brick with a smeared mortar joint and stucco that is faux finished and uneven.  There is also a high-pitched roofline that is very prevalent and is either metal or a flat tile.  Windows and details are usually flat topped or slightly arched and shutters are often used as accents.  On the inside the rooms will feature tall flat ceiling.  Rooms are separated and less open than other styles.  Lots of crown mold and door trims along with intricate built ins are very common.  The outside is always accompanied by plenty of covered porches and pools are usually lineal.
